Part 9 – The Autobiographical Sketch

This is the part of the Ontario law school application that requires you to describe your extracurricular activities, work experience, awards, etc.

You are encouraged to spend a great deal of time on this. You must choose your words so that the reader has a clear idea of what you were doing.

Examples:

1. You don’t say “I worked long hours while attending school.”

Rather, “I worked 25 hours every week while attending school.”

2. You don’t say “I worked for the Department of Justice.”

Rather, “I worked as a legal researcher for the Department of
Justice.”

Principle 9 – When describing yourself you must focus on the description and not on the title.
